Sanchita Patjoshi and Kevin Searle have stepped down from Dunbar Community Council (DCC) due to busy work schedules, and both were given a big thank-you for everything they’ve done—Sanchita for her fantastic work with Civic Week and Kevin for his help on various building projects. With their departure, we welcomed Neil Houston, a semi-retired educator and musician, who’s keen to build stronger connections with Dunbar’s young people. Several local issues were raised with East Lothian Councillors, including overcrowding at Dunbar Station, ongoing gas repairs at West Port with no clear end date, and concerns about an effluent leak near Winterfield Golf Club. There was also a discussion about the council’s plan to hand over control of St. Margaret’s at Winterfield to the golf club.
