The proposed parking charges in Dunbar were again discussed. Elected members were reminded that there was no public support for the scheme put forward by Stantec. Conscious also that the proposed traffic management plan was intended to generate revenue for a hard pressed ELC, DCC had proposed a scheme which would allow for enforcement of existing parking restrictions and also generate revenue. This would involve the display of a carboard “clock” in the vehicle displaying its arrival time. the clock would be purchased by members of the public at a proposed £10. There was insufficient support from DCC members for such a scheme and the idea was dropped.
A draft of the revised Constitution for DCC has been submitted to ELC and has been approved without change.
