The Dunbar Community Council currently has two vacancies for council members. Applications are invited from residents within the burgh of Dunbar to fill these posts. This is an opportunity to serve the local community and help make Dunbar a better place to live and work.
The primary purpose of a community council is to ascertain and express the views of the community to the local authority and other public bodies. Applicants are required to attend monthly committee meetings at Dunbar Town House, and be prepared to take an active role in progressing current projects. These include various improvements around the town, vetting and coordinating responses to planning applications, as well as participation in a number of sub-committees for Christmas Lights, Civic Week activities and the like. Whatever your background or experience, you are welcome to apply for one of these positions, and your experience will help to shape our local community.
